Lahontan Gold Bolsters Management Team as Santa Fe Mine Targets 2027 Restart

Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSX.V: LG) (OTCQB: LGCXF) has announced three strategic additions to its management team, reinforcing its commitment to restarting production at the Santa Fe Mine in Nevada by 2027. The company is transitioning from a mine developer to a mine builder, and these appointments are designed to bolster its technical, operational, and business development capabilities during this critical phase.

Tony Gesualdo has rejoined Lahontan as vice president of exploration, a role he previously held from 2020 to 2023. During his earlier tenure, Gesualdo was instrumental in contributing to the Santa Fe Mine's initial Mineral Resource Estimate, providing continuity and deep knowledge of the project's geology. Michael Kubel has been appointed senior mine engineer, bringing over a decade of experience in Nevada open-pit gold mining and heap-leach operations, including work at the Florida Canyon and Hycroft mines. Jen Earle joins the team to lead investor relations and business development, leveraging two decades of experience in natural resources, capital markets, and investor engagement across the LSE, ASX, and TSX markets.

"These additions significantly strengthen our technical, operational, and business development capabilities as we advance Santa Fe permitting, mine planning, and our planned transition toward construction and operations," said Kimberly Ann, Founder, Executive Chair, CEO, and President of Lahontan Gold. The company is actively progressing its Santa Fe Mine project, which is its flagship asset, and is targeting a production restart in 2027.

The Santa Fe Mine project, spanning 26.4 square kilometers in the Walker Lane of Nevada, has a rich production history, having produced 359,202 ounces of gold and 702,067 ounces of silver between 1988 and 1995 via open-pit mining and heap-leach processing. The project holds a National Instrument 43-101 compliant Indicated Mineral Resource of 1,539,000 ounces of gold equivalent (Au Eq) (48,393,000 tonnes grading 0.92 g/t Au and 7.18 g/t Ag) and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 411,000 ounces Au Eq (16,760,000 tonnes grading 0.74 g/t Au and 3.25 g/t Ag), all pit-constrained. These resources are detailed in the Preliminary Economic Assessment and Technical Report with an effective date of December 10, 2024.

In 2025, Lahontan plans to update the Santa Fe Preliminary Economic Assessment and drill test its satellite West Santa Fe project, further de-risking the path to production. The company's strategy focuses on advancing the project through the permitting and planning stages, with the newly strengthened team positioned to drive these efforts forward.

The management team expansion comes at a pivotal time for Lahontan Gold, as it aims to capitalize on the favorable gold and silver market conditions. With a clear timeline for restart, the company is positioning itself to become a significant producer in the region. The additions of Gesualdo, Kubel, and Earle are expected to enhance project execution and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the company meets its ambitious goals.
