Lakeville Man Avoids Back Surgery, Returns to Running After Chiropractic Care

A Lakeville-area man who once faced the possibility of back surgery and struggled to walk is now back to running after receiving care at ALIGN Integrated Health in Lakeville, Minnesota.

Rehan, who had been dealing with severe back pain and mobility limitations, said he felt like he was running out of options before coming to ALIGN Integrated Health. “I came over and got my results with Dr. Cody, and they explained that they had a plan for helping me get my health back,” said Rehan. “It was very different than any other chiropractor.”

At the time, Rehan was reportedly facing significant physical limitations, including difficulty walking, and had concerns that surgery might be his next step. After undergoing a personalized treatment plan at ALIGN Integrated Health, his progress exceeded expectations. Today, Rehan says he has regained his mobility and is back to running.

According to Dr. Cody Rodewald of ALIGN Integrated Health, Rehan’s outcome reflects both a structured treatment approach and the patient’s commitment to recovery. “Rehan was very motivated to avoid surgery, and to his credit, he was compliant to the plan and worked hard for his health,” said Dr. Cody Rodewald. “We thought his case had a lot of promise to make a full recovery, and we’re proud of his results.”

ALIGN Integrated Health provides chiropractic, rehabilitation, and integrated healthcare services aimed at helping patients address pain, restore function, and improve quality of life. For patients dealing with chronic back pain, mobility limitations, or seeking alternatives before considering surgery, cases like Rehan’s highlight the importance of exploring conservative treatment options.

The implications of this story extend beyond one individual's success. With back pain being one of the most common reasons for missed work and healthcare visits, conservative care approaches that can help patients avoid surgery may reduce medical costs, recovery time, and the risks associated with surgical procedures. For the healthcare industry, this case underscores the value of integrated care models that combine chiropractic and rehabilitation services as a first-line treatment for musculoskeletal issues. Patients may find hope in knowing that non-surgical options exist that can yield significant improvements in mobility and quality of life.
