LataMed AI Corp. (OTC: LMED) announced Wednesday that its Venezuelan operating subsidiary, LATAMEDAI VE, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FARMASER to develop a customized artificial intelligence and automation platform designed to support the pharmacy chain's current operations and planned expansion.
Under the MOU, the companies will collaborate on designing, adapting, testing, and evaluating a software platform tailored to FARMASER's operational requirements. The platform is intended to integrate e-commerce, prescription management, customer service, inventory planning, and business analytics functions. Additionally, the parties are evaluating the integration of LataMed AI's CardioAI, PulmoAI, and NeuroAI technologies across FARMASER's three existing locations and up to 15 planned additional sites. These AI-supported platforms are intended to assist in the evaluation of cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurological health information, subject to continued development, testing, and regulatory approvals.
LataMed AI CEO Dr. Kevin Rodan Levy emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration. "Pharmacies play a central role in connecting patients with medications, healthcare products, and related services. Our objective is to work with FARMASER to develop a platform that supports its current operations and planned expansion while evaluating the integration of our AI-supported healthcare technologies across its pharmacy network."
The proposed platform represents a potential enterprise application of LataMed AI's technology beyond its patient-facing telemedicine services. By supporting pharmacy operations and data analysis, the company aims to develop technology infrastructure that may be adaptable to other healthcare organizations throughout Latin America.
The MOU establishes a framework for cooperation but does not guarantee successful completion or commercial deployment. The parties are evaluating an annual software licensing or subscription model, but the scope, timing, pricing, and other terms remain subject to successful development, testing, and definitive documentation. Any prescription-related or AI-supported functionality would be designed to assist workflows and would not replace the professional judgment of authorized pharmacists or medical professionals.
Management believes the collaboration aligns with LataMed AI's broader strategy of building an integrated healthcare ecosystem connecting patients, healthcare professionals, pharmacies, insurers, and payment providers. However, the company cautioned that there can be no assurance the platform will be completed, that the AI technologies will be integrated, that FARMASER will open additional locations, or that the collaboration will generate revenue.
