Liberty Puerto Rico has announced a partnership with HITN, the leading Spanish-language public media network in the U.S., to bring Edye, HITN's award-winning preschool content ecosystem, to Liberty TV customers in Puerto Rico. Starting this week, families can add Edye to any television package for just $2.99 per month, gaining access to a safe, ad-free Spanish-language platform designed for children aged two to six.
The service will be available as an à la carte option within Liberty's entertainment packages and can also be streamed through Liberty Go, the exclusive app for Liberty TV customers, which provides access to live channels on mobile devices and tablets. Additionally, users can access Edye content through the dedicated Edye app, available on the App Store and Google Play.
Edye's programming is curated to nurture curiosity, imagination, and discovery, featuring beloved characters like Daniel Tiger, Pocoyo, Paw Patrol, and Molang. The platform boasts an extensive library of over 2,500 episodes across more than 70 preschool series, along with games and parent guides designed to extend learning beyond screen time. Beyond entertainment, Edye aims to spark conversations between parents and children, turning screen time into family bonding opportunities.
Eric Turpin, General Manager of HITN, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "Puerto Rico has always been a core part of our audience, and this partnership lets us reach families wherever they are. Edye was created to give parents peace of mind and offer children content that supports their development. Bringing this experience to Liberty customers means even more families on the Island can turn screen time into family connection time."
Quique Vivas, Chief Consumer Officer at Liberty, echoed this sentiment: "Adding Edye to our lineup is part of our commitment to bringing Puerto Rican families the best in entertainment and education, all in one place. Our customers are always looking for content they can trust for their little ones, and Edye is exactly that. We're very happy and proud to be able to offer this high-quality platform to our customers."
This move reinforces Liberty's position as the island's leading provider of broadband internet, video, telephone, and wireless services. For HITN, the partnership extends its reach in Puerto Rico, where it already serves a significant audience through various providers. Edye, which has been available for over seven years in Spanish and Portuguese across major digital platforms and pay-TV operators in the U.S., Latin America, and Brazil, continues to expand its subscriber base.
For families in Puerto Rico, this addition means greater access to educational, culturally relevant content that supports early childhood development. The affordable price point and flexibility of the add-on make it an attractive option for parents seeking quality programming for their young children. As screen time becomes increasingly prevalent, Edye offers a responsible alternative that prioritizes learning and family interaction.
