Lifequest World Corp's subsidiary, Biopipe Global, has announced the successful installation of its flagship biological sewage wastewater treatment plant at a resort in a major Indian tourist destination. The plant, with a capacity of 30m3 per day, represents a significant advancement in sustainable water management for the hospitality industry.
Enes Kutluca, CEO of Biopipe Global, emphasized the importance of this installation, noting that it will be the company's third plant in a resort setting, following two successful implementations in the Maldives. The on-site sewage treatment plant (STP) is designed to reduce the resort's environmental footprint substantially, contributing to water conservation efforts and ensuring compliance with increasingly stringent government regulations in India regarding wastewater management in hospitality settings.
This development comes at a crucial time for India's hospitality industry, which is projected to grow at a CAGR of 4.73% and reach $31 billion by 2029, according to industry reports. As tourism flourishes in popular destinations across states like Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh, the need for sustainable practices in waste management has become paramount.
The Biopipe STP offers several advantages that make it particularly suitable for the hospitality sector. Its small footprint requires limited civil work, making it an ideal solution for resorts and hotels. Moreover, the treated effluent can be reused for irrigation, outdoor cleaning, and other non-potable purposes, aligning with the industry's increasing focus on water conservation and sustainability.
The installation of this innovative wastewater treatment plant not only demonstrates Lifequest's commitment to environmental sustainability but also positions the company to capitalize on the growing demand for eco-friendly solutions in the expanding Indian hospitality market. As hotels and resorts increasingly prioritize green initiatives, technologies like Biopipe's STP are likely to play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable tourism in India and beyond.
