LOBO Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: LOBO) is rapidly expanding its portfolio of electric mobility products, aiming to capture a significant share of the burgeoning global market. The demand for electric vehicles (EVs) is surging, driven by increased awareness of environmental benefits, urban mobility challenges, and favorable government policies. The global e-bike, e-trike, and e-scooter industry is projected to reach $77.6 billion by 2028, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.6%.
LOBO Technologies is positioning itself to dominate this market with a comprehensive range of products, including e-bicycles, e-mopeds, e-tricycles, and electric off-highway four-wheeled shuttles. The company also offers automobile information and entertainment software, enhancing user experience through advanced connectivity, multimedia, interactive systems, and artificial intelligence.
The company's multi-faceted approach is designed to cater to various demographics, including solutions for the elderly and disabled. LOBO follows an asset-light business model, leveraging just-in-time production to align supply with demand and minimize excess inventory. To maintain high margins, LOBO outsources the production of more costly models.
One of LOBO's notable innovations is its solar-powered electric tricycle, equipped with high-quality solar panels that provide continuous power to the tricycle's electric motor. This environmentally friendly vehicle helps reduce carbon emissions, is cost-effective, and easy to maintain. Additionally, the "King of the Load" e-trike is designed for commuters and delivery services, offering a means of livelihood, particularly in developing countries.
LOBO is also expanding its presence in emerging markets, including ASEAN countries, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Recently, the company received its largest single order of the year from Ecuadorian resellers, including electric tricycles, bicycles, and solar-powered tricycles. CEO Huajian Xu highlighted Latin America as a key target for rapid expansion, with consistent orders from dealers in Brazil, Chile, Suriname, and other countries.
This week, LOBO hosted one of Brazil's top ten electric mobility dealers, who decided to consolidate production and procurement with LOBO after a site inspection. The Brazilian team praised the company's R&D and manufacturing capabilities, indicating a strong intent to form a close cooperative partnership.
LOBO's steady market share growth in Latin America and other regions is attributed to its ongoing investment in R&D, enabling the development of products that resonate with consumers and provide a greener alternative to gas-powered vehicles. This is particularly important in new markets where EVs can significantly impact global warming by reducing emissions and replacing cars for short trips. In the U.S., three-fourths of all trips are ten miles or less, highlighting the utility of EVs.
To support its expansion, LOBO is increasing its manufacturing capacity. Proceeds from its $5.5 million IPO in March were used to expand a new factory in Wuxi by 20%, equivalent to $27 million in product. Investors have taken notice of these developments, with LOBO's shares recently jumping 16.4% following the Ecuador order and overall growth. The company currently has 150 distributors in China and 60 globally, with plans to expand into additional countries and form more partnerships this year.
