M-tron Industries Secures $6.8 Million Defense Order for C-UAS Radar Programs

M-tron Industries, Inc. (NYSE American: MPTI) announced a $6.8 million follow-on order from a U.S. Department of Defense contractor supporting multiple counter-unmanned aircraft system (“C-UAS”) radar programs. The order includes several products, particularly high-performance oven-controlled crystal oscillators, with work scheduled at the company's Orlando, Florida facility through 2027.

The radar program is gaining traction across U.S. defense procurement channels and federal civilian agencies and is expected to remain in production beyond 2030, according to the company. This award reflects continued demand for Mtron's precision RF components used in defense and aerospace applications, including radar, electronic warfare, communications, drones, autonomous vehicles, guided munitions, and space platforms.

The follow-on order underscores the growing importance of counter-drone technologies as unmanned aircraft systems become more prevalent in both military and civilian contexts. C-UAS systems are critical for protecting military installations, critical infrastructure, and public events from potential drone threats. The sustained production timeline beyond 2030 suggests that the U.S. Department of Defense and federal agencies are committing to long-term investments in this area.

For Mtron, this order strengthens its position as a supplier of high-reliability frequency and spectrum control products. The company designs, manufactures, and markets highly engineered components, providing support throughout the product lifecycle, from design to production and upgrades. Mtron has facilities in Orlando, Florida; Yankton, South Dakota; and Noida, India, as well as a sales office in Hong Kong.

The defense contractor's choice of Mtron's components indicates confidence in the company's technology and manufacturing capabilities. As global defense spending on electronic warfare and advanced radar systems increases, Mtron is likely to see continued demand for its products. This order not only provides a revenue stream through 2027 but also positions the company for future contracts as the C-UAS program expands.
