The Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) has selected Matthew Derrick as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition for the national insurance industry association.
Derrick brings over two decades of leadership experience, most recently serving as CEO of Kodeco.com, where he managed a global team of more than 300 employees and contractors. During his tenure, he successfully rebranded the company and developed innovative professional learning assessments.
Tony Falcone, President of Intact Inland Marine, highlighted Derrick's exceptional qualifications, emphasizing his track record in digital transformation and professional development. Falcone noted that Derrick's leadership is expected to build upon recent IMUA initiatives, including a new website and learning portal.
In his new role, Derrick aims to promote innovation and expand professional development opportunities within the inland marine insurance sector. He expressed enthusiasm about advancing the organization's mission and meeting IMUA members at the upcoming annual meeting in April.
IMUA represents over 90 percent of commercial inland marine insurers and provides comprehensive training, educational programs, industry analysis, and seminars. Derrick's appointment suggests a strategic focus on modernizing professional education and networking in the insurance industry.
