MetaProp Accelerator Unveils Sixth Innovative PropTech Startups for 2025 Cohort

The MetaProp Accelerator at Columbia University has selected six cutting-edge PropTech startups addressing urban sustainability, energy efficiency, and real estate technology challenges through innovative solutions targeting decarbonization and urban mobility.

The MetaProp Accelerator at Columbia University has selected six startups for its landmark tenth cohort, showcasing transformative technologies poised to reshape urban real estate and sustainability landscapes. Chosen from over 200 global applications, these startups represent diverse solutions addressing critical challenges in construction, energy, mobility, and property management.
The selected startups include BuildrFi, which streamlines construction financial workflows; Fram Energy, developing solar deployment software for rental properties; PopWheels, creating an urban e-bike battery swap network; PropRise, offering AI-powered real estate insights; Ulama, providing automated building permitting compliance analysis; and Wealthie, enabling homeowners to leverage home equity strategically.
These companies collectively represent significant technological advancements in PropTech, with particular emphasis on urban sustainability and decarbonization. Their innovations align with emerging regulatory frameworks like New York City's Local Law 97, which mandates significant reductions in building carbon emissions.
The cohort's entrepreneurs bring impressive credentials, including alumni from prestigious institutions like Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as backgrounds from technology leaders such as Google and Y Combinator. Since its 2015 inception, MetaProp's accelerator has supported 50 companies that have collectively raised over $200 million in venture funding.
MetaProp General Partner Zach Aarons emphasized the program's importance, noting that this year's cohort is uniquely positioned to drive meaningful change in urban sustainability, energy use, and mobility. The accelerator represents a critical bridge between innovative startups and established real estate industry stakeholders.
By providing a 22-week program in New York City, MetaProp connects these startups with a global network of investors, mentors, and industry leaders, potentially accelerating technological solutions to complex urban challenges.
