The application connects to vehicles using compatible Bluetooth Low Energy OBD II adapters, enabling the experience to reflect driving context and selected vehicle signals when supported. This integration allows MetaSoul to function as the vehicle's voice interface and persona layer throughout the driving experience. The iPhone app provides setup and primary functionality, including a richer dashboard view, while optional Apple Watch support enables quick, hands-free interactions.
Persona selection is central to MetaSoul's approach, with users able to choose from multiple personalities and "vibes" that match driver preferences ranging from practical to playful to visionary. The system is designed to make driving feel more personal and reassuring by helping drivers share their daily driving experiences with their vehicles, build trust over time, and develop a sense of friendship through consistent voice and personality.
One significant application addresses vehicle diagnostics. When diagnostic events occur, MetaSoul helps the vehicle explain in plain language what a diagnostic code may indicate and what steps the driver might consider next.
