MS Tech Ltd., a global developer and manufacturer of nanotechnology, IoT and big-data sensors, announced that its Homeland Security & Defense Division, MS Detection, has completed multiple deliveries and installations of its EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN and THREATSCAN explosives and narcotics detection systems at critical infrastructure sites across the United States and Southeast Asia. The deployments point to a widening market for advanced trace detection equipment beyond airports and border posts, reaching oil and gas refineries and other multinational high-security facilities.

The company attributed the demand to growing security challenges and increasing requirements to protect critical infrastructure. MS Tech said it continues global deployment of its explosive detection sensors, products and IoT solutions across airports, air cargo, border control, law enforcement agencies and critical infrastructure sites. The significance for operators of high-value facilities is twofold: tighter screening capability and, according to the company, improved operational efficiency.

"These latest deployments reflect the growing demand for reliable, high-performance explosives detection technologies at critical infrastructure sites," said Doron Shalom, CEO of MS Tech. "Our HF-QCM sensor technologies enable customers to strengthen security screening while improving operational efficiency. We are also seeing increasing interest in replacing legacy radioactive detection systems with our non-radioactive explosive trace detection solutions."

The shift away from radioactive systems carries practical implications for facility managers and their workforces. MS Tech's flagship portfolio includes EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, LIQUISCAN, MULTISCAN and THREATSCAN. The EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, MULTISCAN and THREATSCAN are explosive and narcotics trace and vapor detectors, while LIQUISCAN is a liquid explosives detector. All rely on High-Frequency Quartz Crystal Microbalance, or HF-QCM, nanotechnology sensors developed, manufactured and patented by MS Tech. The products feature self-calibrating and self-cleaning capabilities and are described as delivering high levels of sensitivity and operational availability. Because the HF-QCM sensors are non-radioactive, they offer a greener and safer working environment than legacy alternatives, a factor that matters as regulators and employers scrutinize radiation-handling requirements.

The systems are positioned for aviation and transportation security, high-threat facilities and infrastructure, military, customs and border control, mail inspection and cargo screening markets. MS Tech said the systems are operational and proven across a wide spectrum of temperatures and can withstand harsh environmental conditions including dust and humidity, attributes that suit refinery and outdoor infrastructure deployments where equipment reliability is essential.

For the security industry, the installations suggest that critical infrastructure protection is becoming a durable growth driver alongside traditional aviation screening. MS Tech, which describes itself as having more than 25 years of history in analytical chemistry and technology experience, applies its sensor technologies across food safety and product inspection, homeland security and defense, bio-medical diagnostics, fire and smoke detection, water and air monitoring and aerospace. The company develops, manufactures and supplies customized detection sensors and integrated solutions to affiliate companies and other industrial OEMs and resellers.
