NanoViricides to Present at NIBA Conference as Broad-Spectrum Antiviral NV-387 Advances in Phase 2 Trials

NanoViricides, Inc. (NYSE American: NNVC), a clinical-stage company developing nanomedicines for antiviral therapy, announced it will present at the NIBA 153rd Investment Conference on October 7, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The presentation comes as the company advances its lead drug candidate, NV-387, a broad-spectrum antiviral currently in separate Phase 2 clinical trials in the Democratic Republic of Congo for Ebola Bundibugyo virus disease and Mpox.

NV-387 is also being planned for clinical trials in measles, for which it has received Orphan Drug Designation and Rare Pediatric Disease Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as for viral acute respiratory infections. The company’s pipeline further includes NV-HHV-1 for herpesviridae viruses and NV-HIV-1 for HIV/AIDS. This news is significant because it signals progress in developing a single antiviral that could target multiple high-consequence pathogens, potentially simplifying treatment regimens and improving global outbreak response.

According to the company, NanoViricides is creating special purpose nanomaterials for antiviral therapy based on its novel nanoviricide™ class of drug candidates. The technology is derived from intellectual property and know-how of TheraCour Pharma, Inc., with which NanoViricides has a Memorandum of Understanding for the development of drugs for all antiviral infections, excluding cancer and similar diseases. The company holds broad, exclusive, sub-licensable field licenses from TheraCour for several virus fields, established at its founding in 2005.

The lead candidate, NV-387, is being developed as a treatment for RSV, COVID, Long COVID, Influenza, and other respiratory viral infections, as well as MPOX/Smallpox and measles. Another advanced candidate, NV-HHV-1, targets Shingles. The company is also developing drugs against oral and genital Herpes, viral eye diseases including EKC and herpes keratitis, H1N1 swine flu, H5N1 bird flu, seasonal Influenza, HIV, Hepatitis C, Rabies, Dengue fever, and Ebola, among others. For COVID-19, NanoViricides has developed NV-CoV-2 (API NV-387), which does not encapsulate remdesivir, and NV-CoV-2-R, which encapsulates remdesivir within its polymeric micelles. The company believes that since remdesivir is already FDA approved, the encapsulated version is likely to be approvable if safety is comparable.

NanoViricides’ platform technology and programs are based on the TheraCour® nanomedicine technology, which TheraCour licenses from AllExcel. The company holds a worldwide exclusive perpetual license for several drugs with specific targeting mechanisms for human viral diseases including HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, Rabies, Herpes Simplex Virus, Varicella-Zoster Virus, Influenza and Asian Bird Flu, Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis, West Nile Virus, Ebola/Marburg, and certain Coronaviruses. The company intends to obtain a license for RSV, Poxviruses, and/or Enteroviruses if initial research is successful.

As is customary, the company notes that drug development is extremely lengthy and requires substantial capital, and there can be no assurance that any candidates will show sufficient effectiveness and safety for human clinical development. For investors, the NIBA presentation could provide updates on these programs and the company’s strategy.
