Nexteer Automotive Expands APAC Presence with New Smart Manufacturing Facility in Liuzhou, China

Nexteer Automotive has commenced construction on a new smart manufacturing facility in Liuzhou, China, marking a significant step in its strategic expansion within the APAC region. This development is poised to bolster Nexteer's leadership in the steering market by increasing in-house production of critical components and fostering supply chain collaboration. The facility, expected to be operational by the first half of 2026, will specialize in advanced steering and motion control technologies, including Column-Assist Electric Power Steering systems and Modular Power Packs, catering to the rising demand from both domestic and global OEMs.

The new plant, spanning over 40,000 square meters, will feature state-of-the-art laboratories, test tracks, and an employee center, relocating Nexteer's current Liuzhou operations to this advanced site. Jun Li, Nexteer's Global Vice President and APAC Division President, highlighted the facility's role in scaling capacity to meet the growing demand for steering solutions across China and the broader APAC region. The initiative reflects Nexteer's commitment to smart, sustainable manufacturing, with energy-efficient infrastructure and advanced automation aligning with local sustainability goals.

Robin Milavec, President and Chief Technology Officer of Nexteer Automotive, emphasized the company's strategy of 'thinking globally and acting locally' to navigate China's competitive automotive market. This approach has cemented Nexteer's position among China's top automotive OEMs, supporting its vision for safe, green, and exciting mobility solutions. The Liuzhou facility will work in tandem with Nexteer's APAC Technical Center in Suzhou, reinforcing its global manufacturing footprint and commitment to innovation in motion control technologies.
