Nilu27, the hypercar brand established by acclaimed sports car designer Sasha Selipanov, has unveiled its first vehicle, the NILU hypercar. Marking a significant departure from current automotive trends, the NILU hypercar eschews electrification and digitalization, offering a raw and unfiltered driving experience.
Inspired by '60s F1 and Le Mans racers, classic Italian design, and avant-garde influences, the NILU hypercar features a functional, lean, and aerodynamic design. Its exterior combines clean sculptural surfaces with an intricately detailed engine bay, embodying the Bauhaus principle of "form follows function."
Constructed with a bespoke carbon fiber monocoque and lightweight aluminum-alloy tubular subframes, the NILU hypercar prioritizes mechanical accessibility and heat extraction. The interior is designed for optimal ergonomics and safety, featuring an analog human-machine interface with manual controls and feedback mechanisms.
Under the hood, Nilu27 has partnered with Hartley Engines to produce a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that delivers over 1000 horsepower. The engine, with its unique "Hot V" configuration, showcases 12-into-1 exhaust headers and is coupled with a seven-speed manual transmission. This setup aims to offer a tactile and engaging driving experience, reminiscent of late '80s and early '90s Formula 1 cars.
The NILU hypercar's dynamics are enhanced by a double wishbone, pushrod suspension, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. The braking system, sourced from Brembo, includes carbon-ceramic equipment with custom white-finished calipers.
Initial production of the NILU hypercar will be limited to just 15 units, with assembly taking place at Aria Group's facilities in Irvine, CA. Nilu27 is also developing a street-homologated version, limited to 54 units, including four unique one-off designs.
The NILU hypercar will be publicly unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and it will also feature in the mobile racing game CSR Racing 2 later this year.
Co-Founder and COO Inna Selipanov noted the strong reaction to the car's social media teasers, emphasizing that while the world is moving towards electrification, the timeless design and analog experience of the NILU hypercar will ensure its relevance among car enthusiasts.
