Nutriband Raises $1.75 Million to Advance Abuse-Deterrent Fentanyl Patch

Nutriband (NASDAQ: NTRB) announced that 272,671 NTRBW warrants were exercised at a strike price of $6.43, generating approximately $1.75 million in proceeds. The warrants expired on Sept. 30 without extension, leaving the company with no remaining tradable warrants. The proceeds will primarily support the remaining clinical development of AVERSA Fentanyl and the submission of a New Drug Application (NDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for marketing approval.

AVERSA Fentanyl is being developed as a potential first-of-its-kind opioid patch with abuse-deterrent properties. According to a 2022 Health Advances market analysis, the product has estimated peak annual U.S. sales of $80 million to $200 million. The AVERSA technology can be incorporated into any transdermal patch to prevent the abuse, misuse, diversion, and accidental exposure of drugs with abuse potential.

This financing is important because it provides Nutriband with the capital needed to advance its lead product through the final stages of clinical development and toward regulatory submission. If approved, AVERSA Fentanyl could become the first abuse-deterrent fentanyl patch on the U.S. market, addressing a critical public health need amid the ongoing opioid crisis. The successful exercise of warrants also indicates investor confidence in the company's pipeline and strategy.

Nutriband is primarily engaged in the development of a portfolio of transdermal pharmaceutical products. Its lead product under development is an abuse-deterrent fentanyl patch incorporating its AVERSA abuse-deterrent technology. For more information, visit the company's website at www.nutriband.com.
