ODORUN to Launch World's First Toilet Odor Extractor on Kickstarter July 14

ODORUN, a hardware product company based in Newport Beach, California, announced today that it will launch the world's first toilet odor extractor, the ANS-01RM, on Kickstarter on July 14, 2026. The device mounts to a standard toilet and extracts odor at the bowl before it reaches the room, offering a solution to a problem that has persisted for centuries.

According to ODORUN, current methods such as ceiling fans, sprays, and filters are ineffective because they either dilute, mask, or recirculate odors rather than removing them. The ANS-01RM captures odors at the source and vents them outside through existing plumbing, providing a chemical-free and touchless experience. The device features a wave sensor for on/off operation and an auto shut-off after 90 seconds, and it requires no refills or ongoing costs.

“We're a small hardware team, and this product came out of a simple question: why has bathroom odor control barely changed in decades, while almost everything else in the home has gotten smarter?” said Michael Huang, founder of ODORUN. “Fans and sprays were never designed to pull odor out of the house at the source. ODORUN is the first product built to actually do it.”

The ANS-01RM is designed for easy DIY installation, taking about an hour to mount. ODORUN describes it as a permanent upgrade for bathrooms, eliminating odors without added health risks. The Kickstarter campaign, launching on July 14, will allow backers to pre-order the device. Details and updates are available at www.odorun.com.

This product could significantly impact the home improvement industry by offering a practical alternative to traditional odor control methods. For consumers, it promises a fresher bathroom experience with no recurring costs, potentially reducing reliance on chemical sprays and air fresheners. The success of the Kickstarter campaign may signal a shift toward source-level odor management in household products.
