Swiss Watch Gallery & Fine Jewelry is showcasing the updated OMEGA Speedmaster 38 mm collection, which now includes seven newly revealed references that bring the line closer to the legendary Moonwatch than ever before.
The refresh is significant for collectors and enthusiasts because it strengthens the connection between the smaller 38 mm Speedmaster and the original Moonwatch design codes, while preserving the distinct character that has made the 38 mm range popular. Key updates include replacing the previous oval subdials with classic rounded subdials, simplifying the dial layout by reducing wording, and returning to a bolder, thicker bezel that incorporates the essential Dot-Over-Ninety element synonymous with Moonwatch heritage. Each new model is presented on a five-link Moonwatch-style bracelet with either polished or brushed central links, tailored to the specific reference.
At the heart of the new models are two self-winding Co-Axial movements. The Calibre 3330 powers six of the references equipped with date functions, while the exclusive Calibre 3332 drives the seventh reference, a sleek Black Dial model featuring a clean, no-date design.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, stated, "The Speedmaster 38 mm has always taken its cues from the Moonwatch, while keeping size, color, and simplicity in mind. With this latest update, we've taken the Moonwatch inspiration even further, helping to enrich the Speedmaster DNA while still retaining the refined and unique nature that the 38 mm range is known for."
The collection offers a diverse array of materials and finishes. Among the Steel on Steel offerings, the Black Dial model aligns most directly with the signature Moonwatch aesthetic, featuring a black aluminum bezel, black varnished dial with a matt finish, hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova, and a bracelet with alternating brushed and polished links. The White Dial reference features a blue ceramic bezel with a white enamel tachymeter scale and hands and indexes with a blue CVD coating. A Silvery Dial model rounds out the steel selection with a warm grey aluminum bezel and opaline silvery PVD dial paired with Sedna™ Gold PVD accents.
For lovers of bicolor designs, the Silvery Opaline Dial reference combines stainless steel with a polished 18K Moonshine™ Gold bezel, green aluminum ring, and yellow gold tachymeter scale. The Ivory Dial model builds on the signature "cappuccino" style, pairing an ivory main dial with contrasting brown PVD subdials and an 18K Sedna™ Gold bezel. Additionally, two diamond-set bezel references bring extra sparkle to the range, offering 52 diamonds totaling 1.53 carats paired with either an ice blue PVD dial or a white mother-of-pearl dial.
Watch enthusiasts and collectors can explore the updated OMEGA Speedmaster 38 mm collection at Swiss Watch Gallery & Fine Jewelry, available in their showrooms at The Shops at Mission Viejo and Brea Mall.
The update matters because it reinforces OMEGA's commitment to evolving its most iconic line while offering a smaller, versatile option that appeals to a broad range of wrists and tastes. For the luxury watch market, the refreshed Speedmaster 38 mm is likely to attract both seasoned collectors and new buyers seeking a blend of heritage and modern refinement.
