Opawica Explorations Inc. has reported promising results from its 2025 exploration campaign at the Bazooka Property in the Abitibi Gold Belt, with a drill hole revealing a substantial 28-meter zone of mineralization containing notable gold indicators.
In drill hole OP-25-31, the company intersected a zone of sheared, silicified, and quartz-veined sediments from 307 to 335 meters depth. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) readings showed arsenic concentrations ranging from 200 to 1,000 parts per million, with one point reading an exceptional 92 grams per ton of gold.
The initial drilling program covered 3,359 meters across 14 holes, with 1,384 meters of core sampled and 1,112 samples sent to ALS Chemex laboratory for comprehensive analysis. CEO Blake Morgan expressed excitement about the preliminary findings, highlighting multiple thick intercepts with high XRF readings for gold and nickel.
While XRF provides initial elemental composition insights, the company emphasizes that certified assay results are necessary to accurately determine mineral content. The team is currently awaiting laboratory assays to further evaluate the property's potential.
The exploration focuses on the Bazooka Property, with approximately 7,000 meters of high-priority targets remaining, suggesting significant potential for future mineral discovery. The company's systematic approach, including careful core sampling and secure sample chain of custody, underscores its commitment to thorough exploration methodologies.
