Opawica Explorations begins targeted drilling at its Bazooka Property in the Abitibi Gold Belt, focusing on promising gold mineralization zones with historical high-grade results and strategic proximity to Agnico Eagle's Wasamac gold project.

Opawica Explorations has initiated its 2025 drill program at the Bazooka Property, a strategically located gold exploration site in the Abitibi Gold Belt adjacent to Agnico Eagle's Wasamac gold project. The program aims to explore and validate previous promising gold mineralization findings from the 2022 drilling campaign.
The current drill program targets areas with historical high-grade gold intersections, including sections with gold values exceeding 10 grams per tonne. Previous drilling revealed significant gold mineralization, such as 18.70 g/t Au over 1 meter within a 43.9-meter quartz-sericite stockwork zone and multiple other high-grade intervals.
Geologically, the Bazooka Property features complex mineralization within mixed sedimentary and volcanic rock formations. The primary exploration focus is the Main zone, characterized by quartz-carbonate-sericite and talc-chlorite schists spanning up to 60 meters in estimated true width. The property's mineralization is spatially associated with the Cadillac-Larder Lake break/fault zone.
Company President Blake Morgan expressed confidence in the property's potential, highlighting the presence of visible gold, silicified shear zones, and promising geological characteristics. The drill program will systematically test the continuity of high-grade gold mineralization along southwest and west-striking geological planes.
This exploration effort represents a strategic approach to understanding the gold potential of the Bazooka Property, with potential implications for future resource development in the prolific Abitibi Gold Belt region.
