The Patent Baron, a Michigan-based intellectual property law firm, is leveraging its community connections to raise funds for The Salvation Army of Livingston County through two distinctive charity events in May 2025.
The law firm, led by registered patent attorney J. Baron Lesperance, will host a Red Tie Gala and a Red Tee Golf Outing to support local community assistance programs. These events aim to generate critical funding for The Salvation Army's vital local services, which include providing summer meals to children, distributing gifts, supplying winter coats, and offering temporary lodging.
The Red Tie Gala, a formal evening event on May 2, will feature a cocktail hour, plated dinner, dessert dash, and auction. The Red Tee Golf Outing on May 5 will be a four-person scramble tournament with prizes and on-course lunch.
Ticket prices range from $50 to $175, with all proceeds directly benefiting the local Salvation Army chapter. By hosting these events, The Patent Baron demonstrates a commitment to community support beyond its core intellectual property legal services.
The Salvation Army's local impact is significant, annually providing 9,200 lunch meals to children during summer vacation, 15,000 gifts to families, 800 coats to children, and lodging for over 2,200 people in Livingston County.
