Perpetuals.com Leverages AI and Regulatory Compliance to Bridge Gap in Crypto Derivatives Market

Perpetuals.com Ltd. (NASDAQ: PDC) is carving out a niche in the digital asset market by combining artificial intelligence with strict regulatory compliance, according to a recent presentation by CEO Patrick Gruhn at the Emerging Growth Conference. The company's platform is built to adhere to European regulatory regimes including MiFID II, MiCA, DORA, and EMIR, positioning it to serve traditional brokers and financial institutions that face barriers connecting with offshore trading venues.

The digital asset derivatives market has seen surging demand for leveraged crypto exposure, but many traditional financial players are constrained by regulations that limit their ability to engage with unregulated offshore platforms. Perpetuals aims to fill this gap by offering compliant infrastructure accessible through application programming interfaces (APIs), allowing brokers and institutions to integrate without building their own derivatives engines.

Artificial intelligence is central to Perpetuals' strategy. The company's machine-learning models have been trained on data representing more than 11.7 billion order-book fills, covering over 22 billion trades. These algorithms analyze liquidity conditions, trader behavior, and market risk in real time, potentially addressing structural weaknesses in crypto derivatives markets such as sudden liquidation cascades and opaque pricing mechanisms.

The company operates a licensed European Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF) infrastructure and its Kronos X multi-asset exchange platform, which features self-clearing blockchain-based settlement. This setup allows Perpetuals to offer multi-asset coverage while maintaining full compliance with major regulatory frameworks.

PDC CEO Patrick Gruhn, a professor and PhD candidate in computer science and engineering, and founder of the Patrick Gruhn Institute at the EIM, emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets. The company is also extending its AI methodology to healthcare and other decision-intensive domains through BayesShield.
