Peru has officially inaugurated its national pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, presenting a multifaceted representation of the nation's cultural, historical, and economic landscape. Led by Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Desilú León Chempén, the pavilion embodies the theme "Infinite Possibilities" and aims to attract global attention to Peru's diverse offerings.
The pavilion features immersive exhibitions highlighting Peru's rich heritage, including "The Treasures of the Lord of Sipán" and "Peru and Japan", which explore the historical connections between the two nations. Visitors can experience live gastronomic demonstrations featuring iconic Peruvian dishes like ceviche and the national cocktail, pisco sour.
A significant highlight of the inauguration was the introduction of Pukara-chan, the official pavilion mascot inspired by the traditional toro de Pucará. The character symbolizes the 150-year diplomatic relationship between Peru and Japan and serves as a cultural ambassador throughout the Expo.
With an expected 28 million visitors, the pavilion represents a strategic opportunity for Peru to project an image of innovation, sustainability, and economic potential. By blending ancient traditions with modern perspectives, Peru demonstrates its commitment to global cultural exchange and international collaboration.
