Pickleball Players Launch National Challenge to Support Cancer Research

The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) and the American Cancer Society have joined forces to launch the APP National Pickleball Challenge, a month-long initiative designed to promote physical activity and raise funds for cancer research and patient support.

Participants are challenged to play pickleball ten times during April, tracking their active minutes through the Stridekick mobile application. Any pickleball-related activity counts toward the challenge, including competitive matches, casual play, and training exercises.

Shannon Dan, APP Executive Vice President of Strategy and Growth, emphasized the dual benefits of the challenge: "By participating, you can play the sport you love, reduce your personal cancer risk by staying active, and support people facing cancer."

The challenge offers incentives for participants, including a free "Strength & Hope" t-shirt for those who raise $25 in donations. The top ten fundraisers will also receive an OWL Sport paddle from the APP.

All proceeds will directly benefit the American Cancer Society, supporting cancer research, patient support in 20,000 communities, and advocacy for enhanced cancer care access. This initiative represents an innovative approach to combining community sports engagement with meaningful philanthropic efforts.
