The American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS), the oldest and most respected organization in the specialty, has awarded its Honorary Award to Dr. Bahman Guyuron, an internationally recognized surgeon based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Honorary Award, the highest distinction from the AAPS, is reserved for individuals whose work has significantly advanced the science, research, and humanitarian aspects of medicine.

Dr. Guyuron's recognition follows a career spanning more than four decades, during which he has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications, 6 textbooks, and delivered more than 1,200 lectures in over 30 countries. “These gratifying recognitions by the plastic surgery colleagues make decades of assiduous work to improve the safety and efficacy of plastic surgery technique and international travel to share new ideas worthwhile,” said Dr. Guyuron. “I am honored to contribute to a field that continues to evolve and change patients’ lives.”
