The Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI), a leading trade association in North America representing the plastic pipe industry, has announced the search for a Director of Sustainability & Advocacy. This new position aims to bolster the organization's mission to promote the use of sustainable and resilient plastic pipe systems.

Fink, PPI president. Reporting directly to the President of PPI, the Director will lead the PPI Sustainability Committee and manage the PPI webpages dedicated to sustainability topics. The role involves creating case studies, promotional materials, and social media content to highlight the benefits of plastic pipes. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for aligning these messages with the organization's goals.
Working remotely or from the Dallas-area headquarters, the Director will play a crucial role in PPI's government advocacy efforts. Responsibilities include assisting with government policies, directing lobbying activities, and representing PPI on Capitol Hill. The Director will also oversee the PPI Umbrella Government Advocacy Committee, maintain a list of legislative issues, and collaborate with lobbyists and association partners to develop legislative proposals.
Ideal candidates for this position must have an accredited four-year degree in engineering, public relations, political science, governmental affairs, marketing, or communications. A preference is given to those with three to five years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills, digital public relations experience, and familiarity with Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are also required.
