PowerHouse Automotive Group Acquires Griffin Chevrolet, Expands to Five Dealerships with First Chevrolet Franchise

PowerHouse Automotive Group announced on July 2 the acquisition of Griffin Chevrolet of Sylvester, adding its fifth dealership and first Chevrolet franchise to its portfolio. The transaction, which closed on July 1, 2026, also creates the company's first multi-brand automotive campus in Southwest Georgia, as the Chevrolet dealership sits adjacent to PowerHouse's existing Ford Sylvester dealership at 1002 W. Franklin St.

According to a press release, the acquisition allows PowerHouse to offer customers in the Sylvester area access to both Ford and Chevrolet vehicle lineups, sales, and services at a single location. “July 1 marks a major milestone for PowerHouse,” said CEO Fernando Arellano Geddes. “Adding Chevrolet to our lineup and building our first campus right here in Sylvester is exactly the kind of growth we set out to achieve when we founded this company seven months ago: expanding choices for our customers while deepening our roots in the communities we already call home.”

Arellano Geddes brings over two decades of automotive retail leadership to the venture, including extensive experience managing General Motors dealerships. “Having achieved excellent results managing GM dealerships, there is something truly special about bringing Chevrolet back into the family here in Sylvester,” he stated. “This is not unfamiliar territory for us; it is a manufacturer we know well and with whom we have had great success, and we are excited to bring that experience to this community.”

The acquisition expands PowerHouse's presence in Sylvester, where the company has operated the Ford Sylvester dealership since acquiring the Sunbelt Ford group in December 2025. With this agreement, PowerHouse now operates five dealerships in Southwest Georgia—Ford Albany, Ford Americus, Ford Cordele, Ford Sylvester, and the newly acquired Chevrolet Sylvester—and adds its first non-Ford brand to its portfolio.

PowerHouse plans to retain the Griffin Chevrolet team and integrate the location into its existing operational and community programs, including workforce development initiatives and support for the region’s military families. The automotive complex model in Sylvester is expected to serve as a blueprint for future multi-brand growth as PowerHouse continues to expand.

“Bringing Chevrolet into the family isn’t just about adding a fifth dealership; it’s about offering our neighbors in Sylvester more of what they’ve been asking for, without having to leave town to get it,” added Arellano Geddes.
