Prospect Markets Signs Definitive Crypto.com Agreement to Launch U.S. Prediction Markets Ahead of NFL and NBA Seasons

Prospect Markets (TSX.V: MKT) (OTCQB: MKTSF) (FSE: DEP) announced that its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Prospect Brokerage USA LLC, has executed a definitive agreement with OG Prediction Markets and Crypto.com | Derivatives North America to launch an event-based prediction markets offering initially in the United States. The agreement enables Prospect Brokerage to offer event contracts through Crypto.com's regulated infrastructure, advancing Prospect's planned U.S. launch ahead of the upcoming NFL and NBA seasons.

This move comes as the prediction markets sector is projected to experience significant growth. According to Bernstein, the broader prediction markets sector is expected to reach approximately $240 billion in trading volume in 2026 and approximately $1 trillion annually by 2030. This projection underscores the growing interest in event-based trading, where users can speculate on outcomes ranging from sports events to financial indicators.

Prospect Markets describes itself as the prediction market platform built natively for sports. From the world's largest leagues to niche competitions, Prospect aims to turn every sports moment into a tradable market. The platform allows fans to trade peer-to-peer on outcomes using real-time data from a second-screen experience, which transforms passive viewership into active market participation.

The agreement with Crypto.com is a strategic step for Prospect Markets, as it leverages Crypto.com's established and regulated infrastructure to offer event contracts. This partnership is expected to facilitate a smoother entry into the U.S. market, pending regulatory approvals. The timing is notable, as the launch is planned ahead of the NFL and NBA seasons, which are among the most popular sports for betting and trading in the United States.

Other companies are also active in prediction markets, online gaming, and related sectors, including DraftKings Inc. (NASDAQ: DKNG), Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (NASDAQ: DJT), High Roller Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROLR), and Rush Street Interactive, Inc. (NYSE: RSI). These companies are making moves to capitalize on the growing demand for alternative forms of engagement with sports and events. For instance, DraftKings recently expanded its relationship with Games Global, High Roller launched its free-to-trade prediction platform ahead of its planned prediction markets product, and Rush Street Interactive partnered with AGS to debut Bonus Spin Xtreme(R) online. Meanwhile, Trump Media, Crypto.com, and Yorkville Acquisition Corp. recently agreed to terminate their proposed business combination and related initiatives, indicating a dynamic and evolving landscape.

The prediction markets industry is at a pivotal point, with regulatory frameworks evolving and major players positioning themselves. Prospect Markets' agreement with Crypto.com could provide it with a competitive edge, leveraging Crypto.com's brand and infrastructure to attract users. For investors and sports enthusiasts, the expansion of prediction markets offers new opportunities to engage with sports and events in a financial manner.
