Raleigh Family Law Firm Adds Alaska Pro Bono Honoree Kevin Sullivan

Charles R. Ullman & Associates has added family law attorney Kevin F. Sullivan Jr. to its Raleigh, North Carolina practice, bringing a litigator with courtroom experience in evidentiary hearings, depositions, trials and mediations to a firm serving clients in Raleigh, Cary and throughout Wake County.

The hire matters for families in one of the state's fastest-growing legal markets because it expands the firm's capacity to handle contested divorce and child custody matters, where outcomes often hinge on detailed preparation and courtroom advocacy. Sullivan's background suggests a practice built around those skills. Before joining the firm, he lived in Anchorage, Alaska, and practiced with North Star Law Group, LLC, where he advocated for clients in court proceedings across a range of matters.

His work in Alaska drew recognition from two organizations. He was named the Alaska Bar Association's 2025 Pro Bono Champion, an honor tied to his service to clients unable to afford representation, and the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault named him its December 2025 Volunteer of the Month. Those credentials carry weight in family law, a field where domestic abuse, custody disputes and property division frequently intersect and where clients often arrive in crisis.

Sullivan's litigation experience helps him formulate and execute legal strategies tailored to his clients' goals, particularly in divorce, child custody and other family law matters, according to the firm. His problem-solving abilities and commitment to helping clients navigate challenging situations inform his work.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to our team," said Founding Attorney Charles R. Ullman. "His strategic insight, creative approach, and unwavering dedication to serving the community will be invaluable assets as we continue to advocate for our clients and seek favorable resolutions on their behalf."

The addition signals the firm's intention to deepen its bench as demand for family law representation holds steady across Wake County. Charles R. Ullman & Associates said it looks forward to enhancing its capacity to provide client-focused legal representation and guide families through challenging life transitions. The firm represents families in Wake County and across North Carolina in matters including separation, divorce, domestic abuse, child custody and support, property division and spousal support, and it is respected by Wake County's lawyers and judges.

Sullivan is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Alaska Bar Association, United States District Court for the District of Alaska and Massachusetts Bar Association. He earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts: Boston, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Outside work, he enjoys watching baseball, learning about history and finding unique places to visit and explore.

For readers navigating separation or custody disputes, the arrival of an attorney with trial and mediation experience can affect how aggressively and efficiently a case proceeds. The firm's expansion also reflects a broader pattern in Raleigh's legal market, where population growth continues to drive demand for family law services.
