Rare Coachbuilt Renault 4CV Roadster by Legros Showcased at DFW Car & Toy Museum

The DFW Car & Toy Museum is currently showcasing a rare 1950 Renault 4CV Roadster, distinguished by its bespoke coachwork from Belgian coachbuilder Legros. This vehicle stands out not only for its unique design but also for its historical significance as part of France's first post-war economy car line, the Renault 4CV, which was the first French automobile to sell over one million units.

This particular model, however, diverges from the mass-produced saloons with its hand-formed steel body panels, dual side mirrors, shortened windscreen, louvered deck lid, and elegant driving lamps, all finished in a rich blue. Inside, the car boasts a minimalist two-spoke ivory steering wheel and a Jaeger instrument cluster, with an odometer showing just 38,000 kilometers, indicating its exceptional preservation.

Ron Sturgeon, founder of the DFW Car & Toy Museum, remarked on the car's ability to captivate and intrigue, serving as a testament to the transformative power of skilled craftsmanship on even the most humble automotive platforms. The Renault 4CV Roadster by Legros is part of the Ron Sturgeon Collection, enriching the museum's diverse array of over 200 cars and 3,000 toys and collectibles.
