Rooftop Relief Donates Gutters to Veteran in Cincinnati

Rooftop Relief, a Loveland-based roofing contractor, has taken its commitment to supporting veterans to a new level. After a severe storm damaged the gutter system on Jerry Townsley's barn in Greater Cincinnati, the company chose to replace the entire seamless gutter system free of charge, rather than offering the requested Veteran discount.

Jerry Townsley, a graduate of Milford High School, served four years on active duty in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59). He then continued his military service with 20 years in the United States Air Force at Rickenbacker Air Force Base, followed by 39 years of civil service. When he contacted Rooftop Relief about repairing his storm-damaged gutters, he asked about a potential Veteran discount. Co-founders Jerry Vineyard and Ryan Collins decided that a discount was insufficient given Townsley's extensive service record.

"When Mr. Townsley called us asking for a Veteran discount after severe storm damage tore up his barn's gutters, Ryan and I looked at his decades of service in the Navy, Air Force, and civil service and knew right away—a discount wasn't enough. Replacing his gutters completely free of charge was the least we could do to show our gratitude," said Vineyard.

This donation is part of Rooftop Relief's annual Veteran roof donation program, which has previously focused on roof replacements. The company, an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, has expanded the program to include other exterior components like gutters. "Our annual Veteran program started with roofs, but stories like Jerry Townsley's remind us that home protection involves the complete exterior," added Collins. "Whether it's a storm-damaged roof or seamless gutters on a barn, we want to ensure our local Veterans have safe, durable structures protecting their property."

The initiative highlights the importance of supporting veterans in the community. Rooftop Relief encourages residents across Loveland and the Greater Cincinnati area to nominate deserving veterans for future free roofing and exterior repair projects. Nominations can be submitted through the company's website.

Rooftop Relief, located at 1387 State Route 28 in Loveland, Ohio, specializes in storm damage inspection, roof replacement, and seamless gutter systems. The company has built a reputation for honest craftsmanship and community service. This act of generosity not only addresses an immediate need for Townsley but also underscores the ongoing commitment to honoring those who have served the country.
