Ryvid announces a new Power Controller Upgrade by Accelerated Systems Inc to boost the performance of its Anthem and Outset electric motorcycles. This upgrade promises increased power and torque without affecting battery life, making the bikes more capable on highways and more fun to ride.

Ryvid Introduces Power Controller Upgrade for Enhanced Electric Motorcycle Performance

Ryvid, the California-based electric motorcycle manufacturer, has introduced a Power Controller Upgrade by Accelerated Systems Inc (ASI) for its Anthem and Outset models. This upgrade aims to transform the riding experience by significantly enhancing performance metrics. New customers can order their Ryvid Anthem or Outset with the ASI Controller pre-installed directly from Ryvid’s Californian assembly facility. Existing owners have the option to install the upgrade themselves or request a visit from a Ryvid technician.

The upgrade has been rigorously tested by Ryvid engineers, who found that it provides faster acceleration due to a substantial increase in power and torque delivery. The stock 4.7:1 final drive saw peak torque at the wheel rise from 250 ft-lb to 334 ft-lb with the ASI Controller. Similarly, peak horsepower increased from 20hp to 27hp. Importantly, this performance boost does not negatively impact battery range, making the models more highway-capable and enjoyable to ride.

Given the performance increase, Ryvid recommends the Power Controller Upgrade for experienced riders. However, both the Anthem and Outset models retain their selectable riding modes, allowing riders to choose between Sport and Eco modes. In Eco mode, power delivery is softened and regenerative braking is provided. In Sport mode, riders can experience the full performance of the 72V air-cooled, brushless DC motor and removable 4.3kWh battery with an integrated charger. Regenerative braking is stronger in Sport mode and can be further increased by a rider-selected trigger.

The Power Controller Upgrade can be fitted to any new Ryvid Anthem or Outset ordered directly from the company's website. As a promotional offer, orders for the Outset placed before July 31, 2024, will receive the ASI Controller for free. Existing or new owners of the Ryvid Anthem can purchase the controller for $800 through the website’s shop at ryvid.com/collections/bike-accessories.

For those opting for DIY installation, it is advised that the process is not for beginners. The installation requires setting up a secondary wiring harness to power the ASI Controller, which takes approximately three hours. Detailed guidance is provided via a video on ryvid.com. Alternatively, customers can request installation by a Ryvid technician for a service fee.

Riders and media who have tested the Ryvid Anthem with the ASI Controller have reported very positively on its performance, further elevating their impressions of this affordable electric motorcycle. The Anthem is priced at $6,495, while the new Outset is available for $5,995. The Anthem is ready for immediate delivery in five colors, whereas deliveries for the Outset will begin in the summer of 2024 and will be available in Sector Red or Vapor Grey.

Both the Anthem and Outset models share a rigid steel backbone frame, instrument display, removable 4.3kWh battery with integrated charger, 72V air-cooled, brushless DC motor, controller, and sealed belt drive. They are capable of speeds exceeding 75mph and offer up to 75 miles of range. The battery can be charged quickly from both 110V and 220V power supplies.

The Outset has a 33-inch seat height, making it suitable for a range of riders, while the Anthem’s adjustable seat height from 31 to 34 inches accommodates an even wider range. Weighing 313 and 315 lbs respectively, both models feature a low center of gravity and excellent handling characteristics, making them easy to maneuver at both high and low speeds.

Additional benefits of the electric powertrain include the Ryvid Reverse Drive, which allows riders to move the motorcycle backward at walking speed to navigate tight parking spots or awkward slopes.

The Ryvid Anthem and Outset are available for order now at ryvid.com. The Anthem starts at $6,495, while the Outset is priced at $5,995, with deliveries beginning in the summer of 2024.
