Scarefest Scream Park, a family-owned 50-acre Halloween destination in Lenox Township, Michigan, is celebrating its 20th anniversary season. Founded in 2006, the park has become a cornerstone of Michigan's autumn landscape, employing hundreds of local residents and supporting local charity organizations. This milestone season features a blend of fear and fun, with nightly stage entertainment, Halloween movies, roaming ghouls, photo ops, bonfires, and a heated bar tent.
The park's signature attractions, collectively known as the "Four Pillars of Fear," include Castle of the Dead, an 8,000-square-foot haunted house; Hayride of Doom, a family-friendly narrated ride following a researcher and his AI assistant navigating a viral outbreak; Forest of Darkness, a haunted walk along the Salt River; and Terror Zone Maze, a dark maze with strobes, 3D effects, and terror at every dead end. Each attraction offers a unique experience ranging from family-friendly to intense thrills.
Before the official October season, Scarefest is hosting two exclusive special event weekends for adults 21+. Ghouls Night Out, scheduled for September 18 and 19, offers a twist on "girls night out" with a "Sip & Shop" artisan vendor show, wine tastings, mixology demonstrations, crafts, and Zumba. BBQ, Bourbon & Boos, on September 25 and 26, features a live band, local bourbon and whiskey tastings, and barbecue food selections.
Located at 34111 28 Mile Rd, the park has been recognized as a multi-year winner of "Best Haunted Attraction" in Metro Detroit from Vote4TheBest. The anniversary season underscores the park's role in the local economy and community, providing seasonal employment and supporting charitable causes.
