The Church of Scientology in Seattle hosted its annual National Night Out event on August 9, 2026, to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support of anti-crime efforts, and unite the local community. The event highlighted the strong connection between drug abuse and crime by distributing educational materials from the Truth About Drugs campaign free of charge.
The initiative builds on ongoing local outreach, including the distribution of more than 150,000 Truth About Drugs booklets throughout the greater Seattle area during the recent FIFA games. The campaign provides unvarnished facts in a youth-friendly format, with booklets and videos covering fentanyl, marijuana, crystal meth, heroin, synthetic drugs, and other commonly abused substances. These resources aim to help young people make informed decisions to remain drug-free.

The family-friendly gathering featured live music from the Viewpoints band, barbecue cooked and served from a unique antique 1924 Model-T Ford truck, hand-crafted ice cream, and activities provided by a professional balloon twister for children.
