Digital entertainment platform Minivela has announced a strategic partnership with social media sensation Haydita Veloz, marking a significant expansion of its content creation strategy for U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets.
Veloz, a 24-year-old actress and dancer known for her extensive portfolio of over 250 mini dramas, will serve as a lead production partner and actress for the company. This collaboration represents a targeted approach to creating engaging, family-friendly digital content tailored to audiences aged 18-34.
Minivela, a joint venture between actor Carlos Ponce, Brilla Media, and Numatec, plans to develop digital shorts ranging from 10 to 90 minutes. These 'Minivelas' will draw inspiration from telenovelas while adapting to modern, fast-paced digital consumption habits, featuring genres like romantic comedies, supernatural stories, and original series.
The partnership leverages Veloz's significant social media presence and storytelling skills, with the potential to create content across multiple platforms including YouTube and various social media channels. By collaborating with influencers and filmmakers, Minivela aims to develop high-performing stories that could potentially evolve into larger series and feature films.
This strategic move highlights a growing trend in media production: leveraging digital talent to create culturally relevant, quickly consumable content for specific demographic markets. For young Latino audiences, the partnership represents an opportunity to see themselves represented in innovative, dynamic storytelling formats.
