Software Engineer's Memoir 'The 100 Year Old Prophet' Chronicles Spiritual Synchronicities and 'Winks from Heaven'

Steve E. Callas, a software engineer with nearly three decades in the corporate world, has released a memoir titled The 100 Year Old Prophet: The Second Greatest Story Ever Told, chronicling his transformation from a logical thinker to a believer in divine intervention. The book, published by World Publishing Company, explores a series of uncanny synchronicities that began after the loss of his father and sister, events he describes as 'Perfect Timing' and 'Winks from Heaven.'

Callas, who also performed as a 'Purple Dinosaur' and Santa Claus at his local Cracker Barrel, uses humor and personal anecdotes to illustrate his journey. He recounts moments such as hearing a 'heart attack' warning on television just as paramedics arrived, and encountering strangers who spoke his exact thoughts. These experiences, he says, defy logical explanation and suggest a higher purpose behind life's coincidences.

The memoir's key themes include the power of connection through his 'UMatter' mission, healing through humor, and signs in silence following the deaths of his brother Greg and sister Nikki. The 'Cracker Barrel Chronicles' feature heartwarming encounters with staff and customers that redefined his understanding of faith and community. Callas emphasizes that he sees himself as a 'supporting character' in these stories, with those he interacts with as the main characters.

'God's plan is perfect, and He never gives you more than you can handle,' Callas writes. The book, released on September 23, 2025, is available on Amazon. It is aimed at readers who feel lost or misunderstood, offering a message of hope and divine timing. Callas, who lives with his wife Maureen, hopes his experiences inspire others to recognize the 'miracles of the mundane' in their own lives.

The memoir's release comes as interest in spiritual and inspirational nonfiction continues to grow, providing a personal perspective on faith and resilience. Callas's background as a software engineer adds a unique contrast, as he navigates from skepticism to a life guided by what he calls 'breadcrumbs' from a divine plan.
