Cloud security firm Sonrai Security has unveiled a new Just-in-Time (JIT) Access capability for AWS that leverages artificial intelligence to transform how organizations manage cloud permissions. The solution enables temporary, on-demand access aligned with zero-trust security principles, dramatically reducing potential security vulnerabilities associated with persistent privileged accounts.
The new Cloud Permissions Firewall feature allows teams to gain access only when necessary and for the shortest required duration. By integrating with Amazon Bedrock, the platform generates intelligent session summaries that provide comprehensive auditing without manual log reviews. This approach addresses a significant challenge in cloud security: managing and monitoring elevated access permissions.
Sonrai's solution differs from traditional Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools by offering a cloud-native approach that can be deployed rapidly—within hours instead of months. The integration with Amazon Bedrock enables rich, AI-driven session insights while maintaining robust data privacy and security standards aligned with AWS best practices.
CEO Brendan Hannigan emphasized the solution's significance, noting that standing access represents one of the most critical unresolved risks in cloud security. By eliminating unnecessary persistent permissions, organizations can substantially reduce their potential attack surface while maintaining developer productivity.
Currently available for AWS customers, Sonrai plans to expand the JIT Access capability to Azure and Google Cloud Platform in future iterations. The solution represents a significant advancement in cloud security, offering organizations a more dynamic, intelligent approach to managing critical system access.
