South Florida's Intracoastal Waterway will sparkle with holiday cheer as two of the region's most celebrated boat parades take place on consecutive evenings in December 2026. According to Water View Vacations, an owner-managed waterfront vacation rental company in Pompano Beach, the 64th Annual Greater Pompano Beach Holiday Boat Parade will be held on Friday, December 11, followed by the 55th Annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade on Saturday, December 12.
The Pompano Beach parade, organized by the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, will feature illuminated vessels, festive decorations, and music along the Intracoastal Waterway. This year's theme, "A Party in the U.S.A.," recognizes America's 250th anniversary, adding a patriotic flair to the holiday festivities. The following evening, the Winterfest Boat Parade in Fort Lauderdale will showcase decorated boats and yachts traveling approximately 12 miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale along the New River and Intracoastal Waterway toward Pompano Beach.
Together, these events offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience South Florida's boating culture, waterfront restaurants, beautiful beaches, and seasonal celebrations—all in one December weekend. The back-to-back scheduling is likely to attract both local residents and tourists, providing a significant boost to the local economy during the holiday season. Hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale can anticipate increased demand, while visitors may face challenges such as limited parking and bridge closures during the parades.
For travelers considering a holiday getaway, Water View Vacations offers privately managed waterfront accommodations in Pompano Beach's desirable Harbor Village neighborhood. Bella Acqua is a three-bedroom waterfront vacation home featuring a private heated saltwater pool, boat dock, and comfortable outdoor living areas. Oltre Mare provides another waterfront retreat with two bedrooms, a private heated saltwater pool, and convenient access to Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale attractions. Both homes offer visitors a relaxing alternative to traditional hotel accommodations, with the privacy and convenience of an entire waterfront residence.
The dual parades not only celebrate the holiday season but also highlight the region's maritime heritage and community spirit. For local businesses, the events represent a prime opportunity to showcase their offerings to a broad audience. Visitors are advised to plan ahead for event viewing locations, parking, and potential bridge closures. Event schedules and routes are subject to change. As South Florida continues to be a popular winter destination, the convergence of these parades underscores the area's appeal as a holiday hotspot, driving tourism and economic activity.
