SPARC AI Inc. (CSE: SPAI) (OTCQB: SPAIF) (Frankfurt: 5OV0), a defense technology company, has officially launched the Overwatch Positioning Network, a live service designed to provide drones with positioning data when GPS is jammed, spoofed, or otherwise unavailable. The announcement comes amid growing concerns over the vulnerability of GPS-dependent systems in modern warfare, where electronic warfare tactics have become increasingly prevalent.

According to the company, the Overwatch network operates by having aircraft send sensor data to the service through an API. The network then computes and returns positioning information in approximately one-third of a second, without requiring any additional equipment or software installation on the aircraft. All computation is handled in data centers, which are designed to expand across multiple geographic regions and automatically scale compute capacity as the number of connected aircraft increases.

The launch of Overwatch addresses a critical challenge in autonomous systems: accurate navigation when GPS signals are compromised. Traditional solutions often require additional hardware on each drone, which can be costly and logistically complex. SPARC AI's software-only approach leverages the low-cost inertial sensors already present in commercial drones, transforming them into precision instruments without the need for external signals or complex integration.

SPARC AI has indicated that Ukraine will play an important role in validating Overwatch at operational scale. The company has invited Ukrainian drone manufacturers and other stakeholders with which it has existing engagements to access the network. This collaboration could allow large numbers of drones to obtain GPS-independent latitude and longitude information without installing positioning payloads on individual aircraft, a capability that could prove crucial in contested environments.

The company also plans to attend the MSPO defense industry exhibition in Poland beginning Sept. 8, where it has scheduled meetings with several European drone original equipment manufacturers. These meetings are part of SPARC AI's broader strategy to expand the Overwatch Positioning Network into additional allied markets, potentially strengthening the resilience of drone operations across NATO and partner nations.

The implications of this launch are significant for the defense industry and beyond. As GPS-denied environments become more common in both military and civilian applications, the ability to maintain accurate positioning without reliance on satellite signals is a strategic advantage. SPARC AI's service could enable swarms of drones to operate effectively in areas where GPS is unavailable, offering a scalable solution that avoids the cost and complexity of retrofitting each aircraft.

For investors and industry observers, the validation in Ukraine and the outreach to European manufacturers signal potential near-term adoption and expansion.
