SS Innovations International, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSII) announced it will host the Global Multi-Specialty Robotic Surgery Conference (SMRSC 2026) in New Delhi, India from April 9-11, 2026. This third installment of the event is expected to surpass last year's attendance of over 1,400 in-person and 600 virtual participants from 17 nations, bringing together surgeons, global thought leaders, and innovators to shape the future of robotic and minimally invasive surgery.

The conference's importance lies in its focus on decentralizing and democratizing access to surgical robotic care, addressing critical barriers of cost, distance, and infrastructure. More than 20 live telesurgeries will be performed using the SSi Mantra surgical robotic system, spanning multiple specialties and exploring critical aspects of telesurgery including connectivity, latency management, cybersecurity, and clinical protocols. Several procedures will utilize the SSi MantrAsana Tele Surgeon Console, a compact chair-based version of the larger command center that enables portability and requires less space.

Among the most significant innovations to be showcased is the SSi Vimana Aero drone system, currently under development as a drone-deployed trauma surgery system designed to bring expert robotic surgical care directly to wounded soldiers in active battle zones. The system aims to bridge the critical time gap between initial injury and medical evacuation by deploying via heavy-lift autonomous drone with two miniature robotic arms featuring seven degrees of freedom. Trauma surgeons would remotely operate the system, which is equipped with 5mm surgical instruments, to address hemorrhaging, wound repair, chest decompression, shrapnel extraction, and field suturing to stabilize patients until evacuation teams arrive.

Project Operion will provide an interactive window into the future of surgical robotic technologies, focusing on enhanced access and training beyond hospital walls, mobile high-tech surgical infrastructure for critical environments, and telesurgery integration combining real-time connectivity with robotic precision for long-distance healthcare. The MantraM Mobile Robotic Telesurgery Unit, a bus designed to bring specialized surgical robotic care and training to any location, will also be displayed, offering potential solutions to traditional cost and distance hurdles for underserved communities.

Live surgical demonstrations and panel discussions will span multiple specialties including urology, thoracic, gastroenterology, head & neck, gynecology, colorectal, general and pediatric surgery, with separate cardiac-focused breakout sessions. Distinguished attendees include Dr. Fred Moll, widely recognized as the 'Father of Robotic Surgery,' along with Sri Madhusudan Sai, Dr. Naresh Treahan of Medanta, former ISRO Satellite Center Director Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, and Dr. Ashutosh Tewari of Mount Sinai's Department of Urology.
