SS Innovations Touts 195 Telesurgeries as Robotic Surgery Moves Toward Remote Care

Telerobotic surgery is shifting from isolated demonstrations to broader clinical and regulatory development, and SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) is building a position in that emerging field. The company’s SSi Mantra system has been used in 195 robotic telesurgeries as of Sept. 28, 2026, including cardiac procedures and long-distance operations, according to a recent report. The installed base of SSi Mantra systems reached 244 as of the same date, up 45% from the end of 2025, while cumulative procedures climbed to 14,503. The system has expanded into 12 countries, with recent cardiac-surgery programs launched in Colombia and Sri Lanka and a new program established at HCG Hospital in Ahmedabad. SS Innovations is currently pursuing U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance and European Union CE marking as it seeks to expand into additional international markets.

For investors and the medical-device industry, the numbers matter because they show real-world adoption at a time when remote surgery is still largely experimental. A recent MedTech Dive article, “Telerobotic surgery is advancing around the world. Will the US embrace it?,” examined the technology’s development and the regulatory and infrastructure questions surrounding remote surgery. The article highlighted SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) alongside larger medical-device companies and emerging robotics developers. The full report is available at https://ibn.fm/4ZLvL.

SS Innovations founder and CEO Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, a cardiac surgeon, told MedTech Dive that robotic surgery is inherently a form of teleoperation and that the central technical question is how much distance can be introduced without compromising responsiveness. That framing underscores why the company’s growing telesurgery experience could matter: if regulators in the U.S. and Europe clear the system, it could open new markets for remote procedures where specialist surgeons are scarce.
