tonies Launches Toniebox Lite, Expanding Its Children’s Audio Ecosystem with a Portable, Affordable Device

tonies SE, the globally leading interactive audio platform for children, today announced the launch of Toniebox Lite, a new device designed to deliver its core listening experience in a smaller, lighter format at a more accessible price point. The announcement marks the first expansion of tonies’ ecosystem to include multiple devices, complementing the flagship Toniebox 2, which launched last year and includes features like Tonieplay gaming and a sleep timer.

Toniebox Lite is compatible with all existing Tonies, giving families immediate access to a content library of more than 1,500 Tonies and over 3,500 digital titles from partners such as Disney, Warner Bros., and Pokémon, as well as tonies Originals. Certified for children aged 1 and up, the device offers screen-free, child-operated play that fosters listening, imagination, and independence.

The new device will launch first in North America, with pre-orders starting today on tonies.com and walmart.com. First in-store availability at Walmart begins on August 22, followed by other North American channels through September and October. The UK, Australia, and New Zealand will see a market introduction in fall 2026.

“As parents increasingly seek mindful alternatives to passive screen time, we see a tremendous opportunity to champion the power of listening,” said Tobias Wann, CEO of tonies, in a statement. “With Toniebox Lite, we open the door to that world for more families than ever.”

Ginny McCormick, CXO of tonies, emphasized the device’s portability: “Childhood rarely stands still. It unfolds across family vacations, visits with grandparents, and everyday adventures. Toniebox Lite’s simple, portable design allows families to bring the tonies experience wherever childhood happens.”

The launch of Toniebox Lite reflects tonies’ strategy to build an ecosystem with multiple devices, each designed for different family needs but connected by the same content platform. While Toniebox 2 remains the flagship with enhanced features like a dynamic light ring and bedtime modes, Toniebox Lite focuses on delivering the core listening experience in a more portable form. The company also plans to offer colorful covers for personalization and added cushioning.

This expansion comes as tonies continues to grow rapidly. The company reported EUR 630 million in group revenue for fiscal year 2025, a 31% year-over-year increase, and guides for FY 2026 revenue above EUR 760 million. With over 12.2 million Tonieboxes and 165 million Tonies sold worldwide, tonies is extending its reach to more families, aiming to shape the future of childhood through listening.
