Twin Hong Kong Lighting Fairs Open with 3,000 Exhibitors, Spotlighting Smart and Sustainable Lighting

The 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) opened on 27 October and runs through 30 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, while the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo opened on 26 October and runs until 29 October at AsiaWorld-Expo. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the twin fairs bring together some 3,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, under the theme “Beyond Illumination”.

HKTDC Associate Executive Director Silas Chu said the theme highlights key trends in smart connectivity, healthy living, immersive spatial experiences and sustainability. The fairs also welcome major industry alliances in smart lighting and IoT, including the Connectivity Standards Alliance, the DALI Alliance, the SILA-EMN Alliance, the Zhaga Consortium and, making its debut, KNX, the global standard for smart building and home automation.

The Autumn Lighting Fair’s Hall of Connected Lighting features some 70 leading local and international brands, including Dimon, Inventronics, TUYA, Viso Systems, Casambi and Signify. Signify is presenting a racing simulator experience with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and displaying Philips Skylight, which simulates natural light and adjusts according to human circadian rhythms. The Hall of Aurora showcases some 500 renowned brands, including Prosperity Lamps & Components, whose products have been featured in FIFA World Cup stadiums and the Museum of the Future in Dubai.

A new LED Display Solution Zone has been launched to build an LED commercial display ecosystem, featuring high-resolution LED screens, transparent displays, flexible panels and immersive visual systems for retail, events, smart cities and architectural projects. Other zones include Commercial Lighting, Residential Lighting and LED Essentials. The Outdoor and Tech Light Expo features Smart Pole and Solution; Outdoor, Industrial and Technical Lighting; and Landscape and Architectural Lighting, plus new photovoltaic and energy storage solutions.

The importance of the fairs extends beyond product displays. According to GEP Research, the global photovoltaic lighting market is expected to reach US$18.5 billion in 2026, up 14.2% year-on-year from US$16.2 billion in 2025. Fortune Business Insights projects the global lighting fixtures market to grow from US$142.52 billion in 2026 to US$221.39 billion by 2034, a CAGR of 5.7%. These figures underline how smart and green lighting are becoming central to urban infrastructure and energy efficiency.

Award-winning innovations are on show, including Ledman Hong Kong’s LEDHUB Smart Conference Solution and QS Series IceScreen LED Display, deployed at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games; Hongkong Sunricher Technology’s Desktop Wizard, which won the Red Dot Design Award; and Zhongshan SUFN Lighting Technology’s REIZ II, which improves heat dissipation efficiency by about 15% and increases light output by around 30%.

The fairs are hosting thematic events with international organisations, including the first-time “Award-Winning Illumination – Highlights from the IES Illumination Awards” with the Illuminating Engineering Society, and “Circularity in Lighting Design” with Women in Lighting. A “Connected Lighting Forum” will explore human-centric lighting for emotional well-being. The HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub through international exhibitions, conferences and business missions, and provides market insights via research reports and digital news channels.
