UGI Utilities, Inc. has announced a natural gas main replacement project scheduled to start on July 28, 2025, along Manheim Pike in Lancaster County. This initiative underscores UGI's dedication to ensuring safe and reliable natural gas service. The project, expected to conclude by mid-September, will also provide an opportunity for some residences and businesses along the route to switch to natural gas.
The construction will affect Manheim Pike between Abraso Street and Dexter Avenue, and Dexter Avenue between Manheim Avenue and Manheim Pike. Work hours are set from 6:00pm to 6:00am, Monday through Friday, with a shift to daytime hours (7:00am to 3:00pm) starting August 18. The community should anticipate road closures, detours, traffic delays, and parking restrictions during these times. Additionally, natural gas service interruptions will necessitate UGI's access to properties for equipment inspection and relighting.
Completion of the project may be influenced by weather and working conditions, with final paving and restoration to follow the underground work. UGI encourages those interested in converting to natural gas to reach out for more information.
