UGI to Conduct Gas Main Replacement in Easton, Impacting Local Traffic and Infrastructure

UGI Utilities is set to launch an extensive infrastructure upgrade project in Easton, targeting critical gas main replacements across several key city streets. The project, scheduled to run from May 19 to the end of June, will impact transportation and utility services in the targeted areas.

The system upgrades will focus on Spring Garden Street, North Second Street, and North Green Street, with construction occurring Monday through Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. Residents and businesses should anticipate potential road closures, traffic detours, and parking restrictions during these hours.

Beyond infrastructure improvements, the project presents a unique opportunity for local property owners. Some homes and businesses along the construction route may now convert to natural gas service, potentially offering enhanced energy efficiency and infrastructure modernization.

UGI representatives warn that the project timeline could be subject to weather and working conditions. Following underground work, final road paving and site restoration will be completed at a later date.
