UGI Utilities, Inc. has initiated a critical infrastructure upgrade project in Upper Saucon Township, focusing on replacing gas mains to enhance service safety and reliability. The project, scheduled for completion by early June, will impact Lanark Road between West Hopewell Road and Cumorah Avenue.
Construction activities will occur Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm, potentially causing road closures, detours, and traffic disruptions. Local drivers, residents, and business owners should anticipate temporary inconveniences during the upgrade process.
The infrastructure improvement presents a significant opportunity for homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas. Some service interruptions are expected, with UGI technicians requiring property access to inspect and relight equipment.
Project completion timelines remain flexible, subject to weather conditions and on-site working environments. The upgrades represent UGI's ongoing commitment to maintaining and modernizing its utility infrastructure, which serves over 760,000 customers across its service region.
