UMAXX, a U.S.-based entertainment and communications brand, has publicly supported the Trump Organization's announcement of a new mobile phone initiative, viewing it as a significant advancement for American digital sovereignty. The company has extended an invitation to collaborate, leveraging its existing line of U.S.-assembled, privacy-first smartphones, known as Liberty Phones. These devices, which include the Liberty and Liberty Plus models, are designed with U.S.-sourced components and feature hardware-level privacy protections such as physical kill switches for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, camera, and microphone access.
Jim Devericks, CEO of SuperCloud International, UMAXX's parent company, emphasized the alignment between the Liberty Phones and the Trump Mobile vision, noting the importance of protecting Americans from surveillance and supporting domestic manufacturing. The Liberty Plus smartphone runs on PureOS, an open-source operating system aimed at eliminating hidden tracking and spyware, and is compatible with all major carriers, including UMAXX's own service and potentially the new Trump Mobile network.
In addition to privacy features, each Liberty Phone comes with UMAXX's live TV service, offering over 350 HD channels, creating an all-in-one secure mobile, internet, and entertainment experience. Devericks highlighted the challenges of developing a secure, American-made smartphone and expressed pride in the Liberty Phone platform's readiness and proven track record. UMAXX has confirmed preliminary discussions with the Trump Organization in 2024 and remains open to further collaboration to advance digital freedom for Americans.
The Liberty Phones are currently available, with plans starting at $99 per month for unlimited talk, text, and 22GB of high-speed data on UMAXX's secure, private 5G network. This development underscores the growing demand for privacy-focused technology and the significance of domestic manufacturing in the tech industry.
