University Park's Nova Introduces ADU and Casita Layouts in Palm Desert

In Palm Desert, California, the Nova neighborhood in University Park, developed by Woodbridge Pacific Group (WPG), has introduced new floorplan options to meet the varied needs of prospective buyers. These new layouts, which include Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and casitas, cater to a range of lifestyles and living arrangements.

According to WPG President Todd Cunningham, Nova's new plans are designed to appeal to different types of buyers. "Some of our shoppers want the lock-and-leave ease of a winter home, some want to be closer to their adult children and others want a new, high-quality permanent residence," Cunningham stated.

Priced from the high $600,000s, the homes in Nova range from 2,328 to 2,751 square feet. These two-story designs offer 4 to 5 bedrooms and 3.5 to 4.5 bathrooms, along with great rooms, covered outdoor living spaces, and two-car garages. Some layouts also include a den and a lounge, adding to the versatility.

One of the standout features of Nova's new offerings is the inclusion of ADUs. These self-contained living quarters come equipped with sleeping and living spaces, a bathroom, wardrobe, washer/dryer space, and a compact kitchen. A separate entry further privatizes these units. "Our ADUs can benefit buyers who want to share housing costs with their retired parents, and that's just one example," added Cunningham.

The new layout choices also include airy lofts and multi-generational suites, reflecting the feedback from Nova shoppers who sought more versatile living spaces. "When Nova shoppers told us they wanted plan layouts with more versatility, we listened and responded," Cunningham emphasized.

Residents Rose and Dan Arguin, who recently moved from San Diego to University Park, praised their decision. "It was the best decision we ever made," said Rose. "We owned and rented homes in San Diego, and we wanted something fresh and attainable, in a place we could enjoy. Nova, University Park, and Palm Desert combined to make the perfect choice."

University Park also includes other neighborhoods like Verve and Esprit. Verve offers four two-story plans with 2-car garages and 1,871 to 2,490 square feet of living space, priced from the high $500,000s. Esprit features plans ranging from 1,992 to 2,925 square feet, with pricing from the $700,000s.

All residents can enjoy a premium lifestyle in a well-situated Palm Desert locale. University Park is near the 10 Freeway, providing easy access to WPG's neighborhoods. Local amenities include proximity to Eisenhower Medical Center, strong schools in the Desert Sands Unified School District and Palm Springs Unified, and abundant retail and dining options. Recreational opportunities abound with nearby hiking trails and entertainment venues like the El Paseo Shopping District and Acrisure Arena.

Leisure activities are also readily available within University Park. Nearby parks offer amenities such as dog parks, covered play areas, basketball courts, and lawns. The Grove, the master plan's amenity center, features a resort pool, lap pool, kiddie pool, playground, pickleball court, stage area, lawn areas for events and games, a firepit, and a BBQ area, all set to open in the summer.
