Unlocked Potential has officially opened registration for its Flag Elite 2027 Winter Youth Basketball League, providing young athletes in Flagstaff and surrounding Northern Arizona communities with an opportunity to develop their skills, compete in organized games, and experience postseason basketball on a professional stage. The announcement was made on September 26, 2026.
The winter league is designed to serve players across multiple age groups and skill levels in a positive, structured environment. Participants will receive an official league jersey and take part in weekly practices, regular-season games, playoffs, and an All-Star Game. Select divisions will advance to championship games hosted at Mortgage Matchup Center, home of the Phoenix Suns, giving qualifying athletes the rare chance to compete on an NBA court.
"Playing at the home of the Phoenix Suns gives young athletes something meaningful to work toward throughout the season," said Coach Kiki. "Our goal is to create an experience that helps players improve their basketball skills while developing confidence, discipline, teamwork, and lasting memories."
Flag Elite's winter season combines player development with organized competition. Weekly practices will focus on basketball fundamentals, including ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, communication, and decision-making. Games will allow athletes to apply those skills while learning sportsmanship, accountability, and how to contribute as part of a team.
The league welcomes both developing and experienced players. Coaches will emphasize age-appropriate instruction and competitive balance so participants can progress in an environment that supports learning, effort, and personal growth.
