The 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) is set to host 21 international pavilions, underscoring its growing global influence in the sustainability and technology sectors. Organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the event will run from October 1-3, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring over 2,800 companies from 65 countries.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, emphasized the exhibition's significance as an annual must-attend event for organizations worldwide. The event offers a platform for networking with investors, exploring new markets, and showcasing the latest technologies in sustainability.
The international pavilions represent a diverse range of countries and regions, including India, Belgium, and Italy, each bringing unique expertise and innovations. Rishabh Sanghvi, Vice-President of the Water Purification And Treatment Association of Gujarat (WAPTAG), noted a 50% increase in Indian participation compared to the previous year, highlighting the strengthening UAE-India relations.
Belgium's pavilion, represented by Edith Mayeux from the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency, will showcase six companies specializing in water treatment, processors, IT, and green hydrogen. This diverse range of competencies demonstrates Belgium's commitment to combating climate change.
Italy's participation, organized by the Italian Trade Agency, reflects the country's dedication to sustainable innovation and a greener economy. Valerio Soldani, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, expressed pride in the strong presence of Italian companies at the event.
Belarus will also make its debut at WETEX 2024, with Mikalai Barysevich, Director General of the National Centre for Marketing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, viewing the exhibition as a starting point for future large-scale projects and international cooperation.
