Wrap Technologies Launches WrapShield Autonomous Defense Platform, Invests in Frenel Imaging for Advanced Thermal-Polarimetric Sensing

Wrap Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WRAP) has launched WrapShield, an autonomous defense and public safety platform designed to unify threat detection, AI-assisted decision support, and response technologies into a single operating architecture. The platform aims to help government agencies integrate existing and future sensors, artificial intelligence capabilities, and response technologies across defense, public safety, homeland security, critical infrastructure, and border security applications, with an initial focus on counter-unmanned aircraft systems.

Alongside the platform launch, Wrap Technologies announced a strategic investment in Israel-based Frenel Imaging Ltd. and an exclusive U.S. and NATO license for Frenel's proprietary TPiCore thermal-polarimetric imaging technology. This technology will serve as the initial sensing layer for WrapShield. The company expects Frenel to be the first of multiple planned investments supporting the platform, which is designed to expand across a range of autonomous security and surveillance markets.

Wrap Technologies is a global leader in innovative public safety technologies and non-lethal tools, addressing complex challenges facing public safety organizations. The company's complete public safety portfolio includes the non-lethal BolaWrap 150 device, Wrap Reality immersive training platform, WrapVision body-worn camera system, WrapTactics training programs, and next-generation C-UAS solutions like PAN-DA and the 1KC Kinetic Anti-Drone Cassette.

The WrapShield platform represents a significant step in integrating multiple technologies to enhance situational awareness and response capabilities for defense and public safety agencies. By combining Frenel's advanced thermal-polarimetric imaging with AI and response tools, the platform aims to provide a comprehensive solution for detecting and mitigating threats, particularly from drones.

This launch comes as demand grows for non-lethal tools and techniques that create time, distance, and tactical advantage in non-criminal calls. Wrap's BolaWrap 150, used by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries, incorporates a multi-sensory distraction followed by non-lethal restraint, reducing injury risk to officers, subjects, and the community.

The company's WrapReality VR training simulator and WrapVision body-worn camera system further complement its public safety offerings. WrapVision, powered by IONODES, features streamlined cloud integration and a made-in-America roadmap projected for early 2026.
